Food and Wine Tour

Lucedio is situated in the centre of an area of great

historical, naturalistic and food and wine interest.

From a historical point of view, there is the Abbey

of Lucedio itself, founded in 1123 by the

Cistercian monks from le Ferté, and considered

one of the most outstanding examples of

Cistercian architecture in Piedmont. Only fifteen

kilometres from Lucedio, there is Vercelli and

Casale Monferrato, , both of which are rich in

splendid buildings, monuments and museums.

From a naturalistic point of view, remember that Lucedio is situated in a Regional Park whose regulations,

combined with the low environmental impact techniques we use in farming, have brought a return of the

typical fauna linked to rice fields from the last century: apart from the frogs, there is large number of grey

herons and black-winged stilts who have adopted Lucendio as their home and who represent yet another

attraction we can offer those who choose to visit us.

Lucedio does not only mean plains and rice fields: a few kilometres away, as the crow flies, the landscape

changes completely. Past the Po river, the plains give way to the wonderful hills and grapevines of the

area of Casale Monferrato.

As for food and wine, the local area around Lucedio offers excellent restaurants serving local cuisine and

using produce from the Principato di ucedio. Click here to find out more.
